Ruger firearms make up the largest single maker of guns in the Unites States. Their range of products  include Center fire rifles, Rim fire rifles, Center fire pistols, Rim fire pistols, Single action revolvers, Double action revolvers and sub-machine guns in several models and configurations. The Ruger M 77 Mark II rifle is based on a  version of the Mauser 98 with its controlled round feed action.

The polymer-frame SR9 semiauto 9mm represents an entirely new design platform for Ruger pistols, and gives Ruger a product that will be a strong competitor for existing powerhouse firearms in the personal defense and law-enforcement markets such as the Glock, S&W M&P, Taurus 24/7, and Springfield XD.

Ruger produces a variety of gun s for the commercial and law enforcement markets. Many of their most popular models are for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge and its variants, include the Ruger Mark III, the 10/22 semiautomatic rifle, and the Single Six single action revolver . Early on Ruger had issues with the quality of their barrels.  Ruger addressed this problem in the early 2000’s by producing their own hammer-forged barrels. Prior to this, they procured barrels from various manufacturers and have admitted that the quality was not as good as what they are now producing.
